The plant grows well in organically rich, well-drained soil, in full sun. In the spring and summer, the plant will respond to regular fertilization with new growth and flowers. The flowers are 6 to 12 inches long, fragrant and pendulous (hanging) with yellow flowers that mature to white or pink. Cultivars exist with additional flower colors.

Yellow Angel's Trumpet is a tropical plant and typically grown as a container plant or houseplant, but can be placed in the landscape as a woody or herbaceous shrub in zones 8-10. During the growing season,  the plant requires regular fertilization to stimulate new growth and flowers.
